Celebrate Science Week at KidZania London on Wednesday 13th – Sunday 17th March 2019!

Explore activities in our city that bring Science to life! Designed with the Key Stage 1-3 Science National Curriculum in mind, we have enhanced existing activities to ensure children learn the importance of Science in their daily lives!

The Science Behind Living Things

Kids can become experts in veterinary care at the Pet Wellbeing Centre, where they will learn to identify and address animal welfare needs, as well as good pet nutrition in Lily’s Kitchen and even perform surgery on a patient in PDSA’s Pet Hospital! Here kids will also learn about the different animal groups and the classification of animals.

Surgeons at the Hospital will learn how to save a life in the operating theatre! Using specialist medical equipment and tools, the team of young doctors will play an important role in helping our patients work towards a quick and healthy recovery! Whilst learning the function of different body parts, organs, survival needs and good health, they will become an expert of the human body.

At the University of KidZania, kids will be able to choose between 2 Science degrees:
• Social Science Degree in partnership with charity, Team Margot – helping to raise awareness about stem cell and bone marrow transplants!
• Environmental Science Degree – discover how the natural world works & how humans impact the environment!

At the Shell Forecourt and Energy Lab, pupils can learn all about why we need cleaner energy, and how scientists and engineers are developing fuels of the future to power our cars and homes. With real cars on the forecourt and a mini racetrack in the lab, young scientists will discover the real world applications of their science learning at school

How Science helps with Discovery and Crime:
In The Vault, kids will learn how to spot fake currency under a UV light, before working as a Vault Guards – where they will deliver and collect kidZos across the city! Counting money from all inbound & outbound deliveries - the Vault Guard is a very important job! 

As Forensic Scientists, kids will have the important job of providing scientific evidence which will be used to help the Police Department! Responding to crimes the Police report across the city, Forensic Scientists will also collect & analyse evidence, including DNA samples and fingerprints to solve a crime!

▶ Forces show with Brooklands Museum

On Saturday 16th March, Brooklands Museum will be joining us in the Theatre to demonstrate how forces work in real life through a fun and interactive show! Volunteers will be called to the stage to take part in a tug of war to understand the difference between balanced and unbalanced forces as well as matching a star material to its most attracted material partner. There’s lots more in this show, including how magic tricks are performed and the density of carbon dioxide, so don’t miss out!

▶ Goozby App Prototype lab

Available 13th – 17th March at the Clubhouse. Budding engineers will learn how apps get created in the Goozby App Prototype Lab. Here kids will be shown the steps to creating an app, what to look out for when designing apps for kids, and feed into a real live prototype - the Goozby app – a kids guide to healthy digital habits - before its public release later this year. Kids get to design their very own Goozby to take home with tips to handle digital zombies. Adults can join in too!
