Talkin' STEAM Week!
S - is for Science, T - is for Technology, E - is for Engineering, A - is for Arts & M - is for Maths!
Friday 19th October 2018

On Friday 5th - Sunday 7th October, we hosted our first ever STEAM Week event! Perfect for a school trip or an extra special day out at KidZania with the family; we had the pleasure of welcoming guests from Guinness World Records, the Engineering Development Trust & PDSA to host a range of extra workshops and special activities around the theme of STEAM (hey that rhymes)!

Guinness World Record Challenges!
Guinness World Records joined us in the city with 3 STEAM-themed world record challenges! Kids put their skills to the test seeing if they could beat the clock with...the fastest time to complete a buzz wire, the fastest time to stack a 10 large brick right angle Lego tower AND the fastest time to complete a giant connect four board!
Across the three days kids really got stuck in to the challenges, determined to beat the clock!
Those who came out on the top of the scoreboards then took part in official world record attempts in the Theatre with a real judicator! It's amazing to say that we had a handful of records broken!
Check out this video on our Instagram of Jasmine who beat the world record for the fastest time to stack a 10 large brick right angle Lego tower using one hand!

Design & Build with the Engineering Development Trust!
After lots of fun when they joined us for our Year of Engineering Summer Pop-Up in August, the Engineering Development Trust (EDT) were back in the city, taking over The Clubhouse with a cool design activity! Here kids put their creative skills to the test, building towers, bridges and other structures and then testing how strong they were by seeing how many weights they could hold! The kids loved getting creative with this activity!
